The Office of Research and Development, National Taiwan University of Arts was formerly the Office of Career Counseling of the National Taiwan Academy of Arts. After the Academy was restructured into the National Taiwan College of Arts In 1994, this Office was expanded into the Division of Research and Development. Following the approval of the College promoted to university in August 2001, the Division was further promoted as the Office of Research and Development as it is. Pursuant to the functions and objectives of research and development, the Office is divided into the Division of Academic Development, the Division of Research and Planning, Center of Innovation Incubator and the Think Tank for Taiwan Cultural Policy.
Tasked with the long-term research and development of school affairs, the objectives of the Office include planning the short-, mid- and long-term collaboration development of the institutes, departments and colleges of NTUA with the public sector and the industries, dedicating to the expansion of resources available to teaching and research as well as the exchanges between schools in regard to the academic development, assisting firms based in NTUA with the Innovation Incubator Center, and promoting art group and academic forums with Think Tank for Taiwan Cultural Policy, so as to boost the energy for research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
